Let’s Hope Together - The Mentor Arabia for Drug Prevention 2013 Gala Dinner

Under the auspices of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Al-Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, President of Mentor International, and His Royal Highness Prince Turki Bin Talal Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, President of Mentor Arabia, a Gala dinner will be taking place on the 13th of April, 2013 at the Avenues, Kuwait.

The Gala dinner is hosted by Mr. Mohammed Abdulaziz Alshaya, Executive Chairman of M.H. Alshaya Company and a member of the board at Mentor Arabia and a trustee at Mentor International. It will also be attended by a number of royalties, board members from Mentor Arabia and Mentor International, as well as business people, NGOs, parents, experts, youth and media representatives.

“We have to prevent the misery and hurt that drug abuse can cause both to the user and to their friends, families and communities.” Her Majesty the Queen of Sweden declared.

Through this prestigious event, Mentor Arabia hopes to raise more awareness on the dangers of drug use and to widen its strategic partnership in Kuwait in order to implement the numerous projects and programs it is currently engaged in.

“We envision a drug-free Arab world where children and youth are given the opportunities to lead healthy lives”; this is Mentor Arabia’s vision, a non-governmental organization which advocates for drug prevention and awareness among children and youth.

Like many other NGOs in the field, Mentor Arabia faces a monumental task in trying to halt the spread of this fast growing and deadly phenomenon in the Arab region. This task cannot be achieved alone; it requires the help and cooperation of various parties, such as governmental and non-governmental institutions, experts, educators, parents, religious leaders, businesses, media and many more. But most importantly it requires strategic policies, capable and committed human resources, co-ordination among different stakeholders and funding,

A night of togetherness and unity. A night of hope for the children and youth of the Arab world. A night for a better tomorrow.
